STATE AND NATIONAL OFFICER ELECTIONS:

Our Officer Application deadline has passed. Officer candidates should have gotten information in regards to next steps. We are looking forward to the new process this year. Because of weather delays, the Officer Timeline has been modified as follows:

- The officer candidate test will be open, beginning on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 and will end on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Your login information has been sent to you along with the testing procedures.

- Interviews begin Friday, January 26, 2018. The dates and time will be relayed to those candidates who have submitted their packets.

- Further information will also be released to the students who have submitted their packets. Candidates can send any questions to the Officer Elections Committee at officerelectionscommittee@gmail.com . Best of luck to all candidates!

Texas BPA Cares - Recognize your chapter for their community involvement by submitting your service HERE. Deadline is February 12 at midnight.

Texas Social Media - Are you staying connected? Submit your chapter to be recognized for being the most social HERE. Deadline is February 12 at midnight.

Important Reminders for SLC:

Attendance Eligibility All Business Professionals of America members (State and National dues paid) are eligible to attend the State Leadership Conference. Each student attending shall be an active member of Business Professionals of America, have approval of school administration, chapter advisor, and a parent or guardian unless the student is of legal age. Only registered advisors may participate as contest administrators and proctors. Registered guests may attend opening session, special event and closing session. Registered guests are encouraged to act as contest judges. Unregistered guests may attend the opening and closing sessions only with a guest pass obtained from the conference headquarters. Both registered and unregistered guests must follow the conference dress code policy.

Each local advisor is responsible for completing the ON-LINE registration form and SUBMITTING it with the necessary fees to the address indicated. Questions regarding BPA SLC registration should be directed to Phyllis Kostka at 832-754-5528 or pakostka@gmail.com . Please mail your registration to BPA / c/o Phyllis Kostka / 6569 Kingsbury Drive / Dallas, TX 75231. A W-9 form is available on page 45 of the Pre-conference Book.

 

On-line registration submitted from January 8 – February 8, 2018 is $70 per person. The (1) registration check, (2) a copy of the check, and (3) a copy of the invoice MUST be received by February 23. On-line registration submitted after February 8 will be $80 per person. The deadline for on-line registration is February 16, 2018. Regular or late registration must be received by February 23 or bring the check to conference registration. The registration fee includes the competitive events, facilities rental, audiovisual, conference materials, printing, awards, State Officer expenses, special events, catering expenses, etc. for the conference.

 

Once your invoice is submitted, registration amount must be paid. There are no refunds – no exceptions. If a project needs to be submitted by the Thursday, February 8 deadline, your student or team members MUST be registered/submitted for SLC by this date even if this means you submit two separate invoices.

 

Regional Leadership Conferences:

National Leadership Conference - May 9-13, 2018 ~ Dallas, Texas

Fall Leadership Conferences: These conferences are hosted across the state usually in October and November. They are currently in the planning stages. Information about these conferences including dates, locations and fees will be posted here.

Regional Leadership Conferences: Texas BPA is divided into Areas and Regions. The Regional Leadership Conferences are the first level of competition and provide a way for students to practice their skills and qualify for the State Leadership Conference held in early March. Each Regional Advisor will plan and host their own competition and will post registration information and deadlines. These contests are held the last three weekends in January with the first weekend in February set as a bad weather make up date.

National Leadership Conference: May 9-13, 2018, Dallas, Texas (Grapevine)

 

It’s our party! Texas will be hosting this year’s National Leadership Conference and we need you there! Make plans to attend the National Leadership Conference. The conference will be held at the Gaylord Texan and the Great Wolf Lodge. Information about registration and deadlines will be posted here.

Your Regional Advisor will determine the date and location for the contest. Please follow deadline and registration information forwarded to you. If you do not receive information, please reference the state website and contact your Regional Advisor directly. These conferences are held the last three weekends of January as determined by your Region.
